Please email riseaboveceremonies@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question here, where I will not only answer it I will also add it to the list.
Don't sweat it—I handle all the heavy lifting. I’ll make it all Ridgy-didge from lodging the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) to registering your marriage documents with Births, Deaths and Marriages after the big day, I’ve got it sorted. You just need to show up at our first meeting with the correct Original IDs Passport or Drivers Licience and Birth Certificate or Extract and sign on the dotted line.
The Notice Of Intended Marriage (NOIM) is the first form I must receive from you and I would recieve this form at our first meeting, once you both have decided that I will be your Celebrant. The NOIM must be signed and received by me 1 MONTH before your wedding Date and is valid for 18 months.
Legally in Australia, we need to lodge your NOIM at least one calendar month before your wedding date. That said, popular dates (especially spring and autumn Saturdays) book out up to 12 to 18 months in advance. The sooner we lock it in, the better!

No, Riseabove Ceremonies does not offer premarital counseling, however we do suggest different services to help couples navigate the challenges and joys of marriage. We also believe that a strong foundation is essential for a happy and healthy marriage, and as a minimum requirement as stated in The Marriage Celebrants Code of Practice each of the parties to the marriage will receive a copy of the brochure ‘Happily Ever….Before and After’
Riseabove Ceremonies requires a non-refundable deposit of $250 to secure your wedding date. In the event of cancellation, the deposit will not be refunded. However, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we will work with you to reschedule your ceremony for a future date. See full Refund Policy in the Terms & Disclaimer Tab in footer
A Rehearsal is included in The Whole Shebang Ceremony and offered as an optional extra with all other ceremony packages, I would recommend one if you want to calm the nerves and practice walking down the isle and knowing where everyone will be standing.
Only if you want to! I can help you both in this and give suggestions in my couple guide pdf, however If public speaking makes you break a sweat, we can keep the spoken legal minimums and do the rest privately.
Your two witnesses can be who ever you want them to be - however they must be 18+ and be able to understand the ceremony
Yes you can, However you will need to check with the appropriate council to that park and seek a permit, permission and a time slot to hold your ceremony there.
Too right I do. I’m based in Leichhardt, Ipswich, but I'm more than happy to hit the road for an absolute corker of a wedding. Travel within 40km is factored into the ceremony package prices — ( 50km for the Whole Shebang Ceremony ) — if you're getting hitched beyond this radius a transparent travel fee of $1.50 per kilometre will apply to the additional round-trip distance, calculated via the fastest route on Google Maps.
Touch wood, this hasn't happened yet! But in the absolute emergency case that I can't make it, I am part of a fantastic network of professional celebrants. I will ensure a fully legally qualified backup celebrant steps in with your exact script so your day goes off without a hitch. I will inform you and organise all that, if it happens.
A cheeky pre-ceremony beer or champagne to steady the nerves is totally fine! Just keep it to one. Legally, both you, your two witnesses, and I must be fully compos mentis (sober enough to understand what you're signing) for the marriage to be valid. Under the Marriage Act 1961 I can’t marry you if either of you or your 2 witnesses even appear to be under the influence of anything. We'll save the proper skulling for the reception!
